The owners of a popular tapas restaurant in Hertfordshire are expanding their business and have taken over a local country pub.
El bar de tapas is a family run restaurant in the heart of Stevenage. They claim to be the first authentic tapas bar in town, serving freshly prepared tapas, wine and specialty sangrias.
The family announced in a Facebook post that they had received the keys to the George and Dragon gastro pub in Graveley, a village between Stevenage and Hitchin.

Situated in the center of the picturesque village, the George and Dragon is a cozy country pub. It closed earlier this month, with the team announcing on January 3 that it would be closed for the “foreseeable future”.
But it looks like the George and Dragon has found new owners, and El bar de tapas has found a new home.
Despite the popularity of tapas cuisine, their new restaurant will take a different approach. It will serve traditional English cuisine with a “modern twist”.

The owners said: “We are delighted to share our news. We have a second restaurant opening soon! Today we collected the keys to George and Dragon in Graveley. The vision is traditional English cuisine with a modern touch, focused on a restaurant for the whole family.
“You have all been so amazing and supportive with us over the years, we look forward to welcoming you to our second home. For updates on our progress and upcoming menus, please follow @ganddgraveley.”
The George and Dragon’s Instagram page has no posts yet, but confirms the pub is ‘under new ownership’ [and] currently under renovation.
