IHG opens Hotel Indigo in New York’s Queens

IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its fourth property in New York, with a hotel in the Queens neighborhood.

The 150-room Hotel Indigo Flushing is located off Flushing Main Street, a seven-minute walk from the Main Street station which offers the 7 train to Manhattan. It’s also a five-minute drive from LaGuardia Airport.

The hotel features locally inspired design by Jackson Creative Group that includes organic materials and finishes.

The atrium-style lobby features peach blossom artwork and a cascading chandelier “reminiscent of raindrops,” while contemporary rooms feature a gray and yellow color palette and peach blossom murals.

Those who love sweeping city skyline views should opt for its King Terrace rooms, which include private terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms include free wifi.

Its third-floor restaurant, Botanica Bar and Lounge, offers cocktails and dishes inspired by the neighborhood’s global influences. The hotel is also within walking distance of Taiwanese bakeries, Cantonese noodle shops, and Shanghai-inspired dumpling houses.

Facilities include a 24-hour fitness center on the fourth floor, a business center and a 58 m² meeting room.

Carol Hoeller, VP Global Brand Management for Hotel Indigo, commented:

“The opening of Hotel Indigo Flushing is an exciting development for Hotel Indigo’s rapidly growing portfolio. We strive to make residents proud with each new opening, celebrating the neighborhood and being part of the community. This hotel showcases the best of Flushing, both in design and guest experience, and will provide travelers with a new, authentic experience to explore.

The group currently operates 133 Hotel Indigo properties globally, with 119 more in the pipeline. Recent openings include the Indigo Brisbane City Center hotel in Australia.
