Hook Boardwalk Hike
On Saturday 23rd April the annual Hike to the Hook, a 20km walk on one of Ireland’s most scenic routes, takes place.
Starting at Tintern Abbey, the route will pass through the picturesque village of Saltmills with views over Bannow Bay, then on to Fethard-on-Sea, past Fethard Castle, with a stop and junction point at RNLI Boat House. Those who join here will still have 12.5 km to go.
Walkers will then pass the historic Baginbun, above the hill near Templetown Church, taking in the magnificent panoramic views of our coastline to Sliabh Coilte. Walkers will then pass the infamous Loftus Hall, where families are welcome to join for the final 3.5 miles to Hook Lighthouse.
Walking options and entry prices: 20km from Tintern Abbey to Hook Lighthouse, over 18s only, €25.
12.5km, RNLI Boat House to Hook Lighthouse, over 12s only, adults €15 and children 12-16 €12.
3.5km, Loftus Hall to Hook Lighthouse, adults €7 and children €5.
We are also delighted and proud to share that proceeds from Hike to the Hook will now be donated to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
