Search continues for 84-year-old woman reported missing in San Francisco
San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin on Wednesday issued an urgent appeal to locate Jean Chang Kan Fung, 84. Reports by Azenith Smith of KTVU.
SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco Police have called on the public to help locate an 84-year-old man who went missing last Friday.
Investigators said Jean Chang Kan Fung left his home in the Richmond District for a walk and never returned.
Police said she was considered at risk due to her age and possible medical conditions.
Fung’s grandson said on Wednesday the family received a tip that they were seen on Silver Avenue, so they spent most of the time driving around town chasing bus lines. The tip didn’t work.
âOfficers from the San Francisco Police Department have worked tirelessly on this, but at this point,â said Kasie Lee, assistant district attorney for San Francisco. “We ask for the help of all San Franciscans.”

“She’s a grandmother, a mother and she’s been missing for five days now,” said San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.
“She’s never been away for this long,” said Acting Deputy San Francisco Police Chief Raj Vaswani.
Last Friday, CHP gave her a courtesy ride to Marina District Safeway by communicating with her through a language app. They dropped her off around 4 p.m.
“There is no report that anyone has seen her since then,” Boudin said.
A criminal act is not suspected, but authorities fear that she is vulnerable, elderly and that there is a language barrier. She doesn’t speak English. She only speaks Cantonese and Taishane.
âWhen you drive or walk, anywhere, keep its image in mind,â said Connie Chan, San Francisco County Supervisor.

The family released a statement: “Our grandmother is a very kind person, always smiling and loves the outdoors. Our whole family has been extremely worried since Friday. We know she is there. We don’t know if she is there. she is hungry or needs help. “
“We are all afraid of what may have happened, what may have happened and we desperately want Ms. Fung sent home safely to her family,” Boudin said.

Fung has been described as being 5 feet tall, weighing 90 pounds with white hair. “She was last seen wearing a red or pink puffer jacket, purple sweater, brown pants, black ‘UGG’ boots and a red beanie with an ‘LG’ logo,” Police said in a press release Tuesday.
Investigators said she was known to frequent the Clement Street neighborhood, the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field, and the Gratton and River Rock casinos.
