A group of teenage thugs wreaked havoc in the beautiful surroundings of Benburb Priory over the weekend.

A test of destruction is what greeted the management team, who are working diligently to maintain the scenic surroundings – Sunday morning.

Highlighting the horror on social media, the Benburb Priory management team said: “It is with deep regret that we have to share these negative images of the antisocial behavior of a group of young people between the ages of 10 and 16. , which took place during the weekend on the grounds of the Priory.

“Beautiful young plants torn from their roots, overturned benches and uprooted poles.

“We would like to reiterate that the Priory is a private park owned by the Order of Mary Servite Trust which operates an open door goodwill policy, welcoming everyone to come and enjoy the peace and quiet of this charming estate. .

“We ask that this philosophy be respected so that we can continue to keep our lands open to the public and the community.”

Locals have also complained about the volume of young people being transported to the village in recent weekends, with trash strewn everywhere and largely anti-social elements annoying people in and around the area.

Antisocial behavior in rural areas has been a hot topic in recent police meetings in the Districts of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, with a marked increase in incidents.
