Westside’s first 99 Ranch Market, the popular Asian grocery store, is set to open soon in Westwood.

Ross Dress For Less’ closed Westwood location at 1364 S. Westwood Blvd will soon host a new 99 Ranch Market, as reported by What Now Los Angeles. The well-known Asian grocery store is set to open by May 2022 and will include an unnamed restaurant and outdoor dining area on the second floor of the market.

99 Ranch Markets is known for its in-house deli that serves Cantonese, Szechuan and Taiwanese dishes that you can eat in or take home, but it’s unclear if the restaurant will house the grocery store’s deli area or another restaurant. .

The grocery store will span both levels of the space and the restaurant will be on the upper level. This dining area will have 73 seats inside and another 44 seats outside in an uncovered dining area. 99 Ranch Market has already applied for a liquor license to sell beer and wine at the restaurant. Plans that have been submitted to the Los Angeles Planning Department call for a renovation of the 49,393 square foot space into a grocery store with 1,854 square feet of space dedicated to the unnamed restaurant with an additional 1,036 square feet dedicated to the outdoor space of the restaurant.

Founder and CEO Roger H. Chen opened his first 99 Ranch Market grocery store commonly known as Tawa Market in Buena Park in 1984.
